New Richmond – John Stephenson, 79, a retired farmer died of a heart ailment in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette at 2:15 p.m. Monday. He entered the hospital Sunday. Born near Linden, he was the last survivor of a family of 13 children. He was married in 1900 to Blanche Rice who died in 1943. He lived in this community for 39 years. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Inez Stephenson of New Richmond, and a son, Eugene M. of Lafayette. A son, Milford, was killed in an automobile accident in Georgia three weeks ago.
